Thursday 21st April - University Sports Festival
After class at 8 I attended the Malta University Sports Festival in which David and Gavin took part in the 1mile run and came in joint first with Gavin leading for the whole race but David managed to sprint to the finish line and snatch half the trophey. David, Gavin and myself (team Loch Ness Monsters) entered the Kayak Water Polo tournament. We lost the first game 4-3 to Arne's team and the second game 6-4 to Chris' team. After the tournament Gavin, David, Emma, Gordon and I tried Scuba Diving in the swimming pool down to a depth of 6 metres with Dive Shack who were giving free taster sessions. I then went on to class before finishing at 5, a rather full day! This Saturday we hope to start our Paddy 1 (lol, that should be PADI ) diving training with Dive Shack.
The Loch Ness Monsters: David, Myself and Gavin.
David and Gavin block a pass by the opponents goal as I hang back in defence.
We line up at our end of the pitch to await the ball being thrown in.
With a long pass from Gavin the ball was ahead of me. I set off and outpaced the two opponents on either side to pick up the ball and place it in the goal, then all three of us plowed up the edge of the pool into the goal mouth (ok, so one of them was going backwards but it was still a great goal, if I do say so myself).
Gavin and I getting into position for the ref to throw the ball in.
Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take any more photos from this point onwards, the above were from our first game. I'm sure there would have been some very interesting photos if we could have taken some of the second game.
