Friday 18th February -

We went into uni to meet with Prof. Ghirlando regarding the Engineering Design Project. I'm working with three Maltese students on a fireworks carton maker. Clint, one of the members of my group, is actively involved in the fireworks community in Malta although he mainly works on the mechanical structures involved. Malta holds a festival in the summer in which these home-made fireworks are used (I'll try and provide a link, if possible, to more clearly describe the types of fireworks). We are working on producing the cartons made of a strip of cardboard, held with a flour-water paste. These are used to propel and illuminate the 7-foot diameter cartwheels. David made a Pasta bake for dinner and dispite most of us taking second and third helpings there was still some left over after we were all full.
